Emergency Loans 2011/12
This facility is available if there has been a delay in the first instalment payment of Student Finance England funding and is designed to help with day-to-day living costs.
- Students can apply for an Emergency Loan of £35 or £70* per week up to a maximum 4 week period.
*The higher rate of £70 applies to students:
- with a spouse or partner
- with children
- living independently - Repayment of the loan must be made on receipt of the first instalment of Student Finance England maintenance Loan.

Short-term Loans
Students who cannot access a student loan from Student Finance England because they are in default of a previous student loan may be eligible to apply for a discretionary short-term loan to help repay the outstanding loan arrears.
