About the Service

Mission Statement:

The Careers and Employability Service is committed to supporting the provision of a life-changing experience for our students and graduates through the enhancement of their graduate employability potential.  We will also be pro-active in increasing University links and engagement with employers and the community and in raising awareness of employer requirements and skills needs.

Aims:

1. To support the University's approach and commitment to increasing the employability of our 21st Century Graduates.

2. To provide students and graduates with accessible, appropriate and timely information, advice, guidance, work experience opportunities and vacancy services.

3. To develop the confidence and broaden the aspirations of our diverse cohort of students and graduates.

4. To support students and graduates in their career planning and decision-making by equipping them with the required skills and knowledge.

5. To help students and graduates become effective applicants for jobs, further study or business development opportunities.

6. To publicise the Careers and Employability Service to students, graduates, staff and employers.

7. To work collaboratively with other University staff in delivering the University's CEIAG Policy and embedding careers and employability provision within the curriculum.

8. To work with employers to develop employment and work experience opportunities.

9. To help organisations recruit suitable candidates.
